No job is too big or too small. We provide a fully warranted insulation and rendering service in partnership with leading manufacturers, and as approved applicators with over 40 years’ experience, we guarantee quality you can trust.

Our traditional rendering process uses time-tested materials and techniques that deliver lasting durability and environmental benefits.
Key features include:
- Exceptional Durability: Once set, traditional renders form a strong, enduring finish.
- Breathability: They allow moisture to evaporate, preventing salt and frost from damaging underlying masonry.
- Flexibility: A limited amount of movement is tolerated without cracking, preserving the integrity of the surface.
- Extended Working Time: With a slower set time, the render can be adjusted during and after application, ensuring the perfect finish.
- Versatile Application: Traditional renders can set underwater, making them suitable for a variety of masonry types and weather conditions.
- Eco-Friendly Production: The manufacturing process is more sustainable than many modern alternatives, and the render absorbs carbon dioxide while curing, further reducing its environmental impact.
How Traditional Rendering Works
Traditional rendering typically involves several layers:
Laying-On Coat(s)
The first coat, applied once or twice, consists of 2 parts lime to 5 parts sand. Applied to a thickness of around 9–16mm, it then sets for 2–7 days (faster in summer, slower in winter) before further work can continue.
Butter Coat (Optional)
A middle or “butter” coat can be applied, though this is uncommon in modern practice.
Finishing Coat
The top layer is a mixture of 1 part lime to 3 parts sand and is just a few millimetres thick (3–9mm). This final coat gives the render its finished appearance and enduring protection.
